Veterans Affairs Canada - 60th Anniversary of the end of WW2: Teacher's Guide
Includes background info, quiz and images
The Virtual Historian - The Dieppe Raid: Learning Guide for Teachers The goal of this comprehensive case is to understand the strategic importance (or historical significance) of the Dieppe Raid for Canada , the Allies, and ultimately for World War II. Unlike core cases, comprehensive cases engage students in deep and wide-ranging activities with a variety of sources from multiple perspectives. Students are placed in the historical context of a virtual investigation. In all aspects of the inquiry, students are guided in the study, questioning, analysis, and evaluation of a key event in Canadian history, based upon authentic historical sources. For teaching purposes, students are invited to analyze historical sources through a set of sourcing questions that facilitates their understanding and analysis. These questions/answers will also serve in the writing of an argumentative essay (opinion/persuasive writing), as found in the mission.
